Treasury Chambers, December 6, 1906.

WITH reference to Sir E. Barrington's letter of the 1st instant, I am directed by the Lords Commissioner of His Majesty's Treasury to state for the information of Secretary Sir Edward Grey, that they are causing the sum of £6,734l. 10s., 5d. to be paid through the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank to the Administration of the Imperial Railways of North China, this being the balance due to the Imperial Railways, as calculated in the statement which accompanied Treasury letter of the 8th August last and now agreed to by the Administration."
